Getting to Ashokan
About the Ashokan Center
Read the story of how this incredible place came to be preserved on the strength of a simple but haunting old-time fiddle tune here:

… by car
GPS will get you there fine, though the route GPS typically sends you may feel quite remote. Either brave the backroads and navigate to:
The Ashokan Center, 477 Beaverkill Rd, Olivebridge, NY 12461
… or …
follow these directions from NYS Thruway Exit 19 for an equally quick route that may feel more straightforward.
… by train
MetroNorth to Poughkeepsie or Amtrak to Rhinecliff get you within 20-40 minutes of the Ashokan Center. Cabs are scarce, though if you prearrange a car service that should prove reliable. If you need help arranging a ride from a train station, let us know.
… by plane
Newark (EWR, ~90 minutes away) and Albany (ALB, ~1 hr away) are the most straightforward airports to fly into.
JFK and LaGuardia will also work in a pinch, but note that the NYS Thruway (I-87 North) can get quite busy on a Friday afternoon leaving the city, and a 90 minute trip can turn into 3+ hours.
Once you arrive: Parking
Please park in the upper lot (it will be obvious when you arrive) and walk downhill to the main lodge. There will be signs. Those lodging at Ashokan may drive down to the main campus to unload their belongings, but you must move your car to the upper lot when you’re done.
Note there are handicap spaces next to the main lodge if you need one, but otherwise that space is for Ashokan staff only.
